- With training and development you will be responsible for minor repair and maintenance work, including: carpentry, decorating and plumbing.
- Monitor fire safety and carry out fire alarm testing.
- Undertake cleaning of areas as required, without encroaching on allocated time required for your monitoring and handy person duties. Undertake necessary statutory checks including but not limited to play equipment, legionella flushing, panic alarms, ladders, fire doors etc)
- To undertake work during school holidays as defined by the Site Services Officer.

Castle Wood is seeking to appoint a Facilities Apprentice to assist our Site Services Officer with the day to day routine maintenance, cleaning duties and smooth running of our school site.
Castle Wood is an outstanding special needs primary school based in Coventry.In this role, you will complete a Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeship level 2 which is expected to take 24 months to complete.
Under the supervision of the Site Services Officer support the operation of the heating plant, maintain required temperatures and the availability of an adequate supply of hot water.
You will be able to listen and take instructions and be flexible.
Qualifications we desire are GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade A* - C/Grade 4 – 9.
Shift pattern: 37 hours flexible shifts to meet the needs of the school anytime between 7am-6pm inc 30 minutes unpaid lunch Break.
