Company Accountant | Burton-on-Trent | £30,000 - £40,000 | Hybrid working
Macildowie are currently working with a successful company based in Burton.
They have seen some changes in ownership and structure over the last 2 years. The role has come about because of an internal promotion and some good growth.

They are consistently investing in their organisation and they are now seeking a high calibreCompany Accountant with a strong technical understanding to join their team.

They sit in the Manufacturing/Engineering sector and they are working flexibly (so 3 days a week in the office).


The role is being recruited because of a series of internal moves and promotions and business as well as continued business growth.


What is the role?
-
Develop systems to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Operating Unit financial ledgers and accounting processes

  • Responsible for managing the
    monthly financial close process to ensure that financial information is supplied to the organisation in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop systems to ensure the
    efficient and effective management of financial data for the preparation of financial accounts
  • Responsible for the
    month end management accounts submission
  • Maintaining the financial ledgers of the operating unit to support the month end reporting process and ensure all accounts reconciled and reviewed

Coordinate and support the Shared Service Team for month end and reporting activities

  • Assistance with the annual Budget and monthly Forecast
  • Monthly Reporting Pack to analyse and review variances actuals vs budget/forecast
  • Ensure that spend vs budget is communicated to budget holders monthly
  • Meet all internal and external reporting requirements within the given deadlines including
    statutory accounts, VAT returns, National Statistics and other reporting returns
  • Manage the completion of the
    Annual Taxation reports for the Operating Unit
  • Act as main point of contact for the audit and coordinate all audit information requirements
  • Ensure
    compliance with group accounting policies and the relevant statutory accounting standards
    (UK & US GAAP):
  • Establish and
    implement a control environment to underpin the accuracy of the UK financial reporting ensuring compliance with
    Sarbanes-Oxley:
  • Standardise, rationalise and document the financial processes to achieve synergies in the finance department
  • Manage the chart of accounts and the cost centre structure of the Business
  • Manage the Payroll interfaces between HR and the Payroll provider and ensure all payments are in line with statutory requirements

So who are you?

Qualifications/Education required:


  • Qualified by experience or Part Qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
