Are you a dynamic, forward thinking individual and are looking for a role working with young people where two days are not the same? Then this role is for you. We are looking for a young person's stop smoking specialist who enjoys working with young people and supporting them to quit smoking. The successful candidate needs to be innovative in their approach and think outside the box and be friendly, empathetic and supportive in nature.
About the Role
There are two posts available for this job. You will work as part of a broader team. The young person stop smoking specialist will provide proactive technological (phone, text, computer-based) assessment and or face to face support for young people contacting the service or being referred (self-referral or by professionals). The nature of the support will vary depending on the needs and readiness of young people and will include signposting to self-help resources, providing short-term advice and support and coordinating medication support. To also contribute to the reduction of ill health and inequalities through education and other settings and to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking, secondhand smoke and vaping. This is to be in line with the Government's Tobacco Control Strategy, local tobacco control action plan and as directed by the line manager.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
