Description

The post-holders will meet with a caseload of families for Family Intervention in Psychosis (FIp), as well as providing courses of individual carer support and contributing to carer support groups, and managing referral and waiting list processes relating to these interventions.

As specialists in this work, the post-holders will also ensure that family and carer perspectives are a visible and influential part of the team's thinking, and they will support other staff members to consider systemic or contextual aspects of distress, impairment, and recovery.


LEO is a specialist multidisciplinary community mental health team who work with adults aged 18-65 experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

We work assertively and intensively with service users and carers for up to two years, to promote engagement with the team and to deliver a range of interventions aimed at facilitating social inclusion and recovery.


Delivery of family and carer interventions; promotion of family and carer perspectives in the team's wider work; ensuring the accessibility and acceptability of these interventions as far as possible; liaising with other members of the MDT; providing teaching or training for other team members as appropriate; contributing to evaluation of these responsibilities as appropriate; management of processes around referral and waiting lists for family and carer interventions.
