Graduate Teacher Internship - September 2024 Are you a final year student coming to the end of your degree considering whether secondary teaching is the career pathway for you? If so, Teaching Personnel's Graduate Teacher Internship Programme is the perfect opportunity to start your teaching career.
Through this initiative you will have the opportunity to gain further experience working in schools as a Teaching Assistant, prior to beginning a teacher training programme.
Any Graduates interested in becoming a secondary school teacher in the future will have the chance to secure a full time Graduate Teaching Assistant role on a 12 month basis, prior to beginning your teacher training at an 'Outstanding' teacher training school based located in Greater Manchester from September 2024.
What is the Graduate Teacher Internship Programme? The Future Teachers Programme is designed to help address the teacher shortages across England & Wales by attracting and supporting bright graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain practical experience before enrolling in formal teacher training.
Who is eligible to apply? All graduates wishing to consider a career in teaching. You must be in your final year of your degree or have already completed your studies.High in demand subjects include English, Maths and Science, however graduates of all subjects including Humanities, MFL and Physical Education will be considered.
To be successful in gaining a position on our Future Teachers Programme, you will be passionate about becoming a secondary teacher in the future and must be able to commit to the programme on a full time basis (Monday – Friday, 8.15am – 3.00pm) from September 2024 until July 2025.
How does it work? Successful graduates who begin our Future Teachers programme will take on a variety of responsibilities within one of our client schools, whereby you will be required to support pupils within your subject specialism department.
All Internships are full time roles within an allocated school in Greater Manchester (Salford or North Manchester) where you will undertake a variety of tasks and activities that will give you a good understanding as to the role of a teacher.
A significant proportion of these tasks and activities will also benefit your subject knowledge as you will focus on raising pupil attainment, supporting special needs pupils, covering classes, assisting with the planning and preparation of lessons and delivering small group tuition sessions.

This is a paid opportunity (up to £1900 per month) whilst learning and building the necessary skill sets required to be successful in gaining a position on a teacher training course the following year.
