Automation Hardware Engineer Role Available
Are you a Hardware Engineer with over 5 years' experience in Hardware design? Have you a keen interest and experience in electrical and control system engineering?

This role covers all aspects of control system engineering from requirement specification through to design, testing and commissioning.


Salary:
£41,500 to £46,000 DoE


Location:

Based in Eastleigh - Some flexibility on hybrid working available and may involve some travel both in the UK and overseas.


Automation Hardware Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electrical and pneumatic hardware controls packages for our process equipment for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Reviewing and establishing the project scope and deliverables
  • Designing hardware to specifications, including electrical and pneumatic design for the control system and control loop diagrams
  • Equipment selection and equipment listing, cable and tubing schedules, electrical switchgear sizing and design and PLC input/output listings.
  • Loading and requesting procurement of the required control system elements
  • Provide support for equipment manufacture and testing.
  • Provide support for the onsite commissioning and qualification of the equipment.
  • Working in an ISO 9001 quality environment and complying with industry expectations.

Automation Hardware Engineer Essential Experience:


  • A background in control systemsrelated electrical and pneumatic hardware design for process/equipment control in the Life Sciences industry or a similar process control industry.
  • Design engineering 5 years plus relevant hardware design experience
  • Electrical switchgear / motor control design to EN6020
  • Process Instrumentation, Ex. Hazardous area control system design (i.e ATEX, IECEx, NEC)
  • Functional safety design (EN13849 / EN62061),
  • PromisE, E3 or EPlan electrical drawing packages, AutoCad.
  • A good working knowledge of standard software products is assumed i.e., Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with or knowledge of the following areas would be considered an advantage
  • Siemens, Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI's, control system testing, commissioning, and qualification activities along with some understanding of Life Science industry regulatoryrequirements i.e. GAMP
  • HNC/D in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience of Automation project delivery across the entire project lifecycle
