JOB PURPOSE


The Safety & Security Executive will support the Safety Officer with match-day administration relating to safety planning, scheduling and steward training arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan matchday stewarding and safety measures at the stadium, making recommendations to various stakeholders including the Safety Officer, Deputy Safety Officer, Club Secretary, Assistant Club Secretary, Operations Manager, HR team, and Ticket Office Manager as needed.
  • Monitor stewarding levels during matches to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with visiting teams regarding traveling stewards.
  • Conduct risk assessments according to the Matchday Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Oversee training and assessment of all club stewards.
  • Ensure stewarding operations align with club policies on customer service, equality, and diversity.
  • Evaluate performance of stewards, response teams, leaders, and supervisors, and provide necessary training or action.
  • Represent the club in consultations with the Safety Advisory Group and Sports Ground Safety Authority regarding spectator safety.
  • Continually review and update Matchday Operations Manual in accordance with safety regulations and legislation.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing spectator safety and security plans for each matchday.
  • Collaborate with local authorities on emergency action planning.
  • Coordinate with various departments on matchday preparations, including ticket sales.
  • Brief all staff on their duties and responsibilities, including emergency procedures.
  • Provide postmatch debriefings and report any issues to the Safety Officer.
  • Prepare matchday resources and event paperwork in compliance with safety certificate and licensing authorities' requirements.
  • Liaise with HR for steward recruitment, training, and assessment, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for each role, manage steward scheduling, and maintain attendance records.
  • Monitor steward behaviour and report any grievances or disciplinary issues to the Safety Officer.
  • Investigate and document complaints or disciplinary matters related to stewards.
  • Provide relevant payroll information to the Safety Officer in a timely manner, including minimum wage updates and changes in hours worked.

MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to organise others.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to meet tight and demanding deadlines, troubleshooting to resolve challenges as they arise.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work some unsociable hours (including weekends).
  • A genuine team player with a collaborative working style and approach to problemsolving.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and be adaptable to a fastpaced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management software.
  • Experience working in a stadium or live events environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills & knowledge.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • This a Full-Time role. You will be required to work on a matchday for which you will receive time back in lieu.
  • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
