Maintenance Assistant - Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Routine & Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, system maintenance, and carpentry to ensure all facilities are in optimal working condition
Implement a preventive maintenance schedule to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems
Maintain outdoor areas to a high level of cleanliness, including gardening, public areas, car park area and keeping the property appearance standards up

2. Repairs

Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve maintenance problems promptly
Respond promptly and efficiently to staff & guest requests for maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, facilities, public areas, and attraction facilities

3. Inventory Management

Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance work
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections

4. Safety, Emergency & Compliance

Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe and secure environment for guests and employees
Follow and adhere to safety protocols and be an advocate in and for regular safety training

5. Team Collaboration

Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, F&B and management, to coordinate maintenance activities that do not disrupt guest experiences

Required Skills and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in maintenancerelated fields or industry experience to match this
Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detailoriented with a commitment to delivering highquality work
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations is a plus
