Maintenance Assistant - Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Routine & Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, system maintenance, and carpentry to ensure all facilities are in optimal working condition
  • Implement a preventive maintenance schedule to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems
  • Maintain outdoor areas to a high level of cleanliness, including gardening, public areas, car park area and keeping the property appearance standards up

2. Repairs

  • Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve maintenance problems promptly
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to staff & guest requests for maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, facilities, public areas, and attraction facilities

3. Inventory Management

  • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance work
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections

4. Safety, Emergency & Compliance

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe and secure environment for guests and employees
  • Follow and adhere to safety protocols and be an advocate in and for regular safety training

5. Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, F&B and management, to coordinate maintenance activities that do not disrupt guest experiences

Required Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in maintenancerelated fields or industry experience to match this
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to delivering highquality work
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations is a plus
