HGV Technician Nights - Reading VMU


Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in the recruitment of an experienced HGV Technician to be based in Reading.


Duties

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles
  • Carrying out road tests
  • Performing emergency road repairs
  • Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards
  • Diagnoses of vehicles utilising computer based diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out scheduled fleet maintenance tasks
  • Preparation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
  • Carry out rechassis work and light fabrication
  • Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • High level of technical knowledge and ability in mechanical repair
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Previous experience would be required
- . Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed)
  • Heavy Vehicle Qualification
  • Previous working experience as a HGV technician with a strong technical background, as well as a keen interest in van
