ROLE OVERVIEW

The team
Our General Liability team is seeking a lawyer (3 PQE+) to join the team in Bristol.

The team is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for a number of market leading liability insurers in the provision of their employers, public and products liability services to insured businesses.

The role will predominantly be dealing with personal injury claims arising out of these policies with the opportunity to become involved in associated regulatory matters such as health and safety investigations/prosecutions and inquests.

There is also the opportunity to deal with the regulation of products.

The General Liability Insurance team spans London and Bristol and is linked with the Medical and Life Sciences team. There are currently 4 Partners, 1 Senior Associate, 6 Associates and 1 Trainee Solicitor.


The role

  • Management and assisting with the management of fast track, intermediate and multitrack personal injury claims.
  • Advising on all legal aspects relating to claims including coverage.
  • Managing a caseload of claims.
  • Delivering high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.
  • Working to develop an environment of constant improvement: enthusiastically sharing with and helping others; and taking responsibility for aspects of team development, such as intranet pages, training and induction, process improvement etc.
  • Capturing and collating required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes and procedures.
  • You will have the opportunity to attend client events and/or travel, principally to London.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Legal Executive or Solicitor 3 PQE+
  • Demonstrable experience of handling personal injury claims and fast track litigation.
  • A good knowledge of legal procedures.
  • Experience, or an interest in gaining experience in, Product Law and Health & Safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Able to deliver commercial solutions and an outstanding client experience.
  • Able to manage client relationships and deliver trusted relationships.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Able to demonstrate good initiative and problemsolving skills but conscious of when to consult others.
  • Enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Committed to being part of a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Committed to business development to further grow the practice.
