    Job summary

    This post for Advanced Clinical Pharmacist within Rheumatology is part of the progress and expansion of our advanced level of practice for pharmacists within south Tees

    The post-holder will be required to innovatively develop the role, and work on their own initiative. They will work closely with Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician for Rheumatology, as well as within the Rheumatology multidisciplinary team and wider pharmacy team, ensuring that services are provided in accordance with relevant professional, ethical, legal and locally agreed policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

    The post-holder will be required to develop excellent rapport with patients, and have effective consultation skills. Exceptional communication skills are vital for this role.

    The post-holder will be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will deliver safe, effective, and optimum clinical pharmacy services to rheumatology patients at South Tees Hospitals in addition to providing expert advice, guidance and information on treatment choices, medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues to senior staff and mangers within the services.

  • Wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting

    • Desirable

  • Experience in mentorship and training for other staff

    • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Pharmacist independent prescribing accreditation or actively working towards qualification

    • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to ward/clinic based situations
  • Strong knowledge of medicines information resources
  • Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office programs
