- Specialty Doctor 8 PAs
- Work closely within an integrated, multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and other staff.
- Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections and related conditions.
- Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for management of contraception needs and related care.
- Participate in the clinical research conducted within the department. The clinic population offers a wealth of clinical material and the post holder will be encouraged to develop his/her own research interests.
- The Trust runs a robust Clinical Governance Agenda and the department aims to support and develop audit within the department and participation will be required of the post holder.
- Utilise professional skills in all relevant areas of sexual health and reproductive health in the provision of care for patients accessing the service.
- Provide patients with information and support to make informed choices about their relationships and sexual health.
- Practice in accordance with service clinical protocols/guidelines.
- Give advice and timely onward referral, where necessary.
- Treat all patients in a sensitive and non-judgemental manner.
- Be conversant with the issue of confidentiality and consent and the law in relation to the provision of advice or treatment.
- Be aware of adult and children safeguarding issues and comply with the service and Trust guidelines and policies.
- Full GMC registration with current licence to practice
- Basic medical qualifications
- DFSRH
- Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine
- LoC IUT / LoC SDI
- MFSRH
- Loc MEd / other teaching qualification
- A minimum of 2 years post registration experience in the NHS or UK healthcare system
- Current experience providing contraception and sexual health care
- O& G / General Practice
- Clinical teaching / lecturing
- Demonstrate an understanding of Clinical Governance
- Demonstrate an understanding of Evidence Based Medicine
