A&P Falmouth - Commercial Trainee
We deliver high-quality projects to our clients across the commercial marine, major fabrication and defence sectors.
We are looking for a Commercial Trainee to join our team in this key role as we continue to expand.
Maybe you have completed a cadetship or worked as a technical writer and enjoy the challenges of understanding specs and getting the numbers right.
So as a Commercial Trainee at A&P Group, what will you do?
- Using your current knowledge of the sector as a starting point, you'll develop into the role, learning how to accurately assess project costs
- You will be given exposure to a variety of projects and learn how to collaborate crossfunctionally to ensure project success
- You'll analyse project requirements, specifications and drawings then with guidance, you'll prepare accurate cost estimates
- Working with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders you'll find the information you need
- You'll learn how to work with tools to calculate material, labour and equipment costs which will help to prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals and bid documents
- You'll review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Once up to speed in the role you'll take part in value engineering and costsaving activities
And what are we looking for?
- An engineering degree or completion of a cadetship / training program / apprenticeship within the maritime sector which has given you base technical knowledge of vessels
- Strong analytical and maths skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
