  • As a Maths Functional Skills Tutor you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of qualifications to progress learners and support learner achievement. You will be located at our Northeast Academies, engaging learners based within each academy. You will be responsible for the overall learner journey for Maths as well as timely achievement.

Role Information

DUTIES

  • Deliver Maths at level 1 &
  • Work with a caseloads of learners
  • Understand and agree each learners starting point and skills development needs
  • Deal with learner's face to face in our academies in groups and also remotely as required
  • Carry out learner inductions and associated processes
  • Deliver a timetable of learning as agreed with the Academy Manager
  • Undertake qualification delivery and planning in collaboration with team members and the Skills Academy Manager that meets LCG and external expectations
  • Ensure ILPS are completed appropriate to individual learner requirements, including SMART target setting and incorporating planned review points
  • Complete registers and documentation to the required standards of the contract and ensure that these are communicated to colleagues within their required deadlines
  • Monitor attendance of all English provision and performance of the learners on an ongoing basis and effectively report to management
  • Ensure that support systems are provided to facilitate positive retention, achievement and progression
  • Timely completion of assessment and documentation to meet awarding body, funding body and organisational requirements
  • Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification to the internal moderator
  • Contribute where appropriate to learner disciplinary action requirements
  • Attend standardisation and team meetings at the designated centres
  • Undertake internal moderation activities as required
  • Promote and ensure safe working practices in line with current Health and Safety legislation, including health and safety department inspections and risk assessments
  • Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required for the job role and maintain a record of all CPD
  • Deliver weekend courses on a rotation basis and shared with other team members over the course of the year if required
  • Demonstrate company core values and vision
  • Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role
  • Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours

  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Minimum of 2 years delivery experience
  • Hold a PTTLs/AET (or equivalent)
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills experience in training delivery
  • Engaging, motivating and commands the classroom
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Strong timekeeping skills and wellprepared
  • High standards of quality and efficiency
  • Ability to react to changing client/learner needs in fast paced environment
  • Good team player cando attitude, positive approach
  • Selfstarter, resourceful, autonomous must be comfortable working alone
  • Good customer relations skills and professional manner
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to different styles and audiences
  • Ability to work and communicate at the highest level, to think strategically and to meet KPIs
  • Able to take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
  • An awareness of different learning strategies and teaching methods suitable for teaching a diverse range of abilities.
