    Permanent My automotive client is one of the world's leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry.

    A unique opportunity has developed due to company expansion and a role as Design Validation Engineer is now available. This role will play a key part in supporting start of production projects.

    You will join the team with the primary objective to work closely with customers to work on the Design Validation (DV) of Electric Drive Units and batteries.

    You will be expected to take ownership for planning and executing test work primarily on developmental rigs, providing clear and concise data analysis and reporting/recommendations to customer teams (focused but not limited to EDU, Electric Motor, Power Electronics).The successful Design Validation Engineer is typically exposed to multiple different projects during their career, including increasing opportunities in the field of electrified powertrains and virtualised development.

    The role is therefore particularly suited to flexible people who will enjoy the opportunity to gain experience in new areas and who can rapidly self-start, combining a pro-active attitude, excellent analytical problem-solving skills and an outstanding technical engineering background.


    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for the testing campaign from requirements definition to data analysis and reporting for design validation of unit under testDefinition and planning of the testing requirements with the Subject Matter ExpertSupervision of the testing facility set up, to ensure Rig and Unit Under Test fulfil the requirementsOn site support at customer or other facilities as appropriate to monitor and ensure good delivery of the testing campaignData processing and data analysis that will be used to make engineering decisionsDaily summary updates on project and testing status to all project stakeholdersTechnical direction to test facilities & other stakeholdersSupport internal Client presentations and participate in trainings and knowledge exchange


    YOUR PROFILE:

    Essential:
    Minimum of 2:1 Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, Electronics, etc)

    Experience in powertrain development, testing and design validationElectric Drive Unit and battery experience/knowledgeExcellent analytical skills with ability to summarise and make clear technical recommendationsSelf-starter with the ability to work with high level instructionAbility to communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbal, with the Client and customer team membersFlexible and adaptable to move onto other commodities (e.g.

    battery/charging/inverter) Preferable:
    Agile/Scrum process
