Position:


The Data Steward will carry out critical Data Management activities within business areas, to ensure that data is understood, controlled and suitable for business consumption.

The successful individual will embed best practice Data Quality controls (e.g. dashboards, validations) into systems and processes to drive up data trustworthiness in the Group. They will also be responsible for capturing and communicating data requirements (e.g. definitions, constraints) and the data lineage, to feed in to corresponding remediation activities.

The Data Steward will report on critical Data Quality metrics and the Data Risk position, to help drive the Bank towards a data-driven culture.


Requirements:


You must have:

  • Proven experience in producing/owning Data Quality reporting
  • Strong understanding of Data Management frameworks & approaches
  • Good SQL and Tableau (or similar) knowledge
  • Analytical mind, critical thinker, and problem solver
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management

Other information:


  • Show improvement to our Data Quality
  • Support Data Consumers to capture their requirements, and ensure they are fed into the data production / entry processes
  • Documentation and maintenance of the Data Lineage for the Bank's critical processes
  • Support the Bank in the execution of agreed control / governance methods and processes;
  • Maintain the quality of data input by business areas, evaluating and identifying issues and implementing appropriate controls to avoid future error
  • Ongoing management of quality control activity, through exception reporting and manual checks where required
  • Creation of monthly data reporting, introducing critical data quality metrics and driving the business areas to a strong culture around the importance of data quality.
  • Support multiple stakeholders with reporting requirements, becoming the expert on what data our systems contain and where it can be found for reporting purposes.
  • Coordination and delivery of any data remediation activity as required.
