Description
Ensure efficient day to day running of the department, clinics and surgery. This will involve preparing notes for clinics, reception duties and chaperone in clinics,

The postholder willwork as part of a team to deliver the Service, to include but not limited to:

  • Support the clerical team
  • Scanning of instruments received from CSSD.
  • Chaperon in clinics to ensure delivery of support and knowledge to clinicians in the treatment and care of patients.
  • Circulate in minor operation theaters.
  • Assist patients with limited mobility to transfer to other areas within the hospital.
  • Cleaning of the Nasoendoscope.
  • Touch point cleaning.
  • Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times, only releasing confidential information during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity and where appropriate.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all staff.
  • Greet patients /visitors in a polite and professional manner.
  • To have the ability to remain calm at all times and to be able to deal with verbal/aggressive abuse from patients/relatives in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make decisions within written guidelines, sometimes without reference to others.
  • Dealing with results and reports of investigation as necessary.
  • Ensure that Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust policies and other regulations are applied as appropriate.
  • Undertake personal training and development where appropriate

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY


The Foundation Trust aims to design and implement services, policies and measures that meet the diverse needs of our service, population and workforce, ensuring that none are placed at a disadvantage over others.


The Maxillofacial Unit at HRI provides a range of oral andmaxillofacialsurgical operations which are carried out on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, conscious sedation and general anesthetic.

These include surgical extractions, removal of impacted teeth, intra-oral and facial soft tissue procedures.


The Maxillofacial Consultants carry out procedures for the removal and reconstruction of head and neck skin malignancies and nasoendoscope diagnostics.

We work closely with the head and neck cancer nurse team as well as other specialties.
