    Description

    The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality specialist Occupational Therapy service within Aylesbury as part of a multi-disciplinary HWB team.

    This will involve leading on a range of Specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, evaluating and developing the service as required.

    The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to junior staff within the service. This post is also open to a development opportunity (Band 6-7) for suitable candidates.

    The Post holder will have evidence of additional post qualification training and continuing professional development.

    ~ The Post holder will take responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the specialist Occupational Therapy input delivery within Aylesbury.

    ~ They will ensure that the Occupational Therapy input is effective, responsive and meets the needs of the service.

    ~ They will have excellent clinical skills and experience in managing complex episodes of treatment that require highly complex communication, co-ordination and case management skills.

    ~ As a senior clinician, the Post holder will offer expert advice to colleagues, service users, partner agencies and trainees as required. This may include attending Senior management meetings and delivering training

    ~ To participate fully in training and other relevant activities.

    ~ To co-ordinate and facilitate Clinical supervision of Band 6 Occupational Therapists

    The Postholder will play a key role in responding to any complaints, concerns and compliments in relation to Occupational Therapy provision.

    ~ The Post holder will have active involvement and seek opportunities to engage in quality improvements within the Occupational Therapy interventions and the wider service. They will actively contribute to service audit, evaluation and research within the Health & Justice Care Quality framework.

    ~ Ensure that the delivery of care meets the standards required by governing bodies such as HPC, CQC, Royal College of Occupational Therapists code of conduct.

    ~ Play a key role in contributing to innovations in risk management, quality standard setting and clinical effectiveness.

    ~ Complete comprehensive written material, reports and entries into client notes adhering to trust policy and general data protection regulations.

    ~ Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to whole service, trust and local team plans, policies and guidelines.

    ~ Supervise Occupational Therapy colleagues and offer advice and supervision to colleagues from other disciplines as required

    ~ Maintain up to date and accurate clinical records on SystmOne in line with the Health and Care Professions Council and Royal College of Occupational Therapists professional standards.

    BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
    ~Substantial experience in Occupational therapy practice
    ~Evidence of further training/ post qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience relevant to the role.

    Previous experience of working with young people and young adults
    Previous experience of providing mentorship and supervision of other Occupational Therapy colleagues/students
    Previous experience of caseload management.
    Experience of managing difficult situations with patients that have mental health conditions and challenging behaviours
