    This is a rapidly growing service and we require an individual with the drive and ambition to move the service forward within the evolving field of sleep medicine, providing high standards of patient care in keeping with trust values.

    The Senior physiologist / Healthcare Scientist works within the Sleep Physiology Service and in conjunction with the service lead and lead clinician to provide a specialist clinical services for the investigation and treatment of all sleep disorders', contributing to the development of a quality and cost effective service.

    They will also assist in the co-ordinating of sleep physiology education and lead their own area of the service.


    A key role will be to provide diagnostic and treatment support for patients with obstructive sleep apnoea and duties would include analysis of home multi-channel sleep studies and more complex inpatient studies, performing new patient clinics to diagnosis patients and create treatment plans, initiating patients onto CPAP therapy and monitoring those on long term therapy in physiologist/nurse led clinics.

    MSc in Clinical Physiology or BSc Clinical Physiology with equivalent experience or extensive experience
    Knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist/management courses or training/experience to advanced level e.g. highly complex polysomnography)
    Teaching/Training certificate

    A minimum of 2 years experience as an senior independent practitioner across the range of routine and specialised sleep investigations and therapeutic interventions with theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of work procedures and practices
    Specialist experience/training in areas of sleep measurement and therapeutics
    Commissioning experience

    Personal Qualities
    Good interpersonal and inter agency working skills
