Description
To support this growth the business is in need of a Corporate Counsel in the UK to assist in fulfilling the corporate and commercial needs of the company.
The position is primarily remote but you may be required to come in to the Guildford HQ from time to time.
As a member of the in-house legal team, you will be expected to support the sales, procurement and marketing operations by reviewing and negotiating supplier and customer contracts with a heavy emphasis on complex software licence agreements.
You will be expected to have or develop a strong knowledge of relevant data protection and privacy regulations relating to PCI DSS and GDPR.
This is a very important role for the company and you will be an integral part of the commercial decision-making and risk management of the business.
You will regularly interact with key stakeholders in the business and be expected to provide timely legal advice on a myriad of issues affecting the business.
Work with the General Counsel on a broad range of legal compliance matters including PCI DSS, GDPR and other data privacy regulations in different international jurisdictions.
Manage external legal counsel when necessary.Participate with the General Counsel in IP enforcement and protection matters including assisting in the management of ongoing patent litigation.
Draft and prepare legal documents, letters, contracts, confidentiality agreements tailored to the needs of the business.Licensed to practice law in the UK.
At least four years post-qualification legal experience (preferably working with technology companies).
Experience representing companies in a wide range of commercial matters.
Great judgment, common sense, commercial acumen and attention to detail.
Ability to convey complex legal advice in a manner that is easily absorbed and understood by your audience. We are on a journey to secure all personal data. 25 Days Holiday
