    Key Responsibilities:


    • Risk Assessment and Decision Making:
    • Evaluate health insurance applications to determine the risk of insuring potential clients based on their medical histories, demographic data, and other relevant factors.
    • Make informed decisions on whether to offer insurance and under what terms, ensuring a balanced risk portfolio.

    • Policy Pricing and Development:
    • Collaborate with actuaries and product development teams to design health insurance policies that are competitive and meet the needs of diverse Asian markets.
    • Set premium rates that are both competitive and commensurate with the assessed risks.

    • Market Research and Compliance:
    • Stay abreast of market trends, health statistics, and regulatory changes across Asia that may impact health insurance products and underwriting standards.
    • Ensure all underwriting processes and decisions comply with local regulatory requirements and company policies.

    • Relationship Management:
    • Work closely with agents, brokers, and clients to clarify underwriting decisions and policy details.
    • Foster strong relationships with healthcare providers and other partners to ensure comprehensive coverage and services for policyholders.

    • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize data analytics to assess risk, forecast trends, and inform underwriting strategies.
    • Prepare reports on underwriting activities, policy performance, and market trends for senior management.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, or a related field.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in underwriting, specifically in health insurance, with a focus on Asian markets.
    • Strong understanding of health insurance products, underwriting processes, and regulatory frameworks in Asia.
    • Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools to inform decision-making processes.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex underwriting decisions to non-specialists.
    • Fluent in English and proficiency in at least one Asian language is highly desirable.

    Working Conditions:
    • This position may require travel within Asia to understand local market conditions and regulatory environments.
    • Regular interaction with clients, healthcare providers, and insurance industry professionals.
    This is a 6-month apprenticeship position regardless of your actual location. Progress review will be required every month and completing the whole apprenticeship will lead to a full-time position in any of our offices globally.
