Description

Production Engineering Support Role at XYZ Company

In this role, you will be responsible for providing production engineering support for manufacturing processes of new and existing products, as well as plant and equipment. You will utilize IFS to share, communicate, and control documentation and information.

Operate a continual improvement methodology, driven by data sources including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), and New Product Introduction (NPI).

Duties will involve hands-on work in the machine shop, assembly area, and office environment.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the most suitable production methods in terms of safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and volume.
Assist operators in problem-solving manufacturing and production issues.
Continually improve manufacturing and production processes using data sources.
Complete New Product Introduction (NPI) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in a timely manner.
Review, update, and create production supporting documentation like Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
Design, develop, and manufacture tooling, jigs, and fixtures for efficient production.
Ensure all production information is updated as needed.
Create and update control plans to ensure product conformity.
Engage with specialists to improve processes and equipment.

Health and Safety

Take immediate action on health and safety concerns.
Promote a positive health and safety culture through regular housekeeping reviews.
Maintain and guard equipment effectively.

Person Specification

Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment, particularly in high precision machining and electromagnetic assembly.
Strong electromechanical engineering skills.
Formal engineering qualification to support work experience.
Ability to work well under pressure and independently or in a team.
Experience in automation implementation.
CAD experience, preferably Solidworks.
Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ/BTEC in an engineering discipline.
HNC in engineering or 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
