    Description

    As a Certification Engineer – BEAB, you will coordinate the company's certification activities within their area of expertise and take an active role in the product and system certification process as appropriate.

    ABOUT YOU

    Required skills and experience:

    • Testing or Manufacturing background
    • Sound knowledgeof ISO / IEC 17020/17065/17025 working practices and requirements
    • Prior electrical / electronic / mechanical consumerproduct testing or manufacturing experience
    • Conversant with manufacturing qualitymanagement systems – ISO9001
    • Familiar with manufacturing process and buildtechniques.
    • Knowledgeable about Inspection methodsand techniques (Including CIG factory inspections).
    • Knowledge of Certification Body Inspection / Surveillance requirements
    • Previous relevantexperience of external/ internal auditing
    • Ability to learn scheme specificrequirements

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    As a Certification Engineer, you'll be joining our BEAB Certification Electrical Team, based at Leatherhead. You will report to Certification Engineering Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Processing of enquiries, quotations and orders for type testing and certification
    • Preparation,review and authorisation of test programmes
    • Preparation and checking of certificates and reports
    • Participation in European Agreement Group matters and the UK National Committeefor Conformity Assessment
    • Participate in the work of the various Certification Schemes in line with companypolicy and objectives
    • Represent the companyduring Certification internaland external peers assessments
    • Manage and representthe company during assessments by Certification Bodies
    • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the Certification Agreements (providing guidanceto the Standards and clauses)
    • To liaise with the QualityManager and ensurethat developments in Testing and Certification are harmonized throughout the business
    • Provision of annualstatistics to schemes
    • Liaise with Qualityto ensure Intertek's schedule of accreditation is maintained with UKAS.
    • Evaluate and disseminate within the team changes (new editions / amendments) to Standards. If necessary, to liaise with Managers to ensure that training needs are implemented.
