Role Purpose:


  • To implement a PDM / PLM system into the organization (and maintain?).

Key Aspects of the role:


  • Lead and coordinate the crossfunctional team activities to implement a PDM (on route to a PLM) to manage product data across multiple sites.
  • Liaise with potential vendors and internal stakeholders to determine the requirements of the PDM system (this must include the local and global IT functions).
  • Establish the internal requirements and limitations to be fulfilled to successfully integrate PDM software into the global IT system.
  • Establish a proposed system solution that fulfils all TAE data security and IP protection requirements.
  • Identify and utilise an objectives rating system to choose the best system to suit the business.
  • Create and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure the PDM is compatible with design tools and other systems, e.g., Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Create, maintain, and share implementation plans with key stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate any risks and problems.
  • Prepare and expedite implementation plan. Establish clear IT implementation plan, including pilot testing, roll out plans, commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate status, issues and actions on regular basis at multiple levels within the organization.

Qualifications, Functional Experience & Skills:


  • Engineeringrelated degree.

System or Knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully implementing a PDM / PLM system from scratch.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the associated and affected IT systems and implications of implementing PDM in a global organization is essential.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: 3D Experience, Team Centre or Windchill.
  • Experience in electromechanical systems including software and / or electronics engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably automotive / aerospace.
  • Experience in a Engineering delivery environment is essential.
  • Experience in research and development (R&D) environment would also be advantageous.

  • Ability to manage and deliver a plan on time.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and according to audience.
  • Ability to work across cultures and geographic locations
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills in word, excel and PowerPoint (MS project would be advantageous).
  • Organised, precise and pragmatic approach to working.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Adhere to EHS procedures & policies to ensure compliance.

Other Features of job:


  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Travel occasionally to other sites as required.
