    HSEQ Officer£35,000 - £45,000Glasgow/PerthThe Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a HSEQ Officer for a leading group of companies based in Scotland.

    The HSEQ Officer will coach, guide, advise and where necessary and instruct company employees including management on all HSEQ matters to ensure adherence to legalisation, industry & client standards, and company policies.

    The multi-disciplined group has grown organically over the past 50 years and specialises in market sectors including automotive manufacturing, construction, technical consultancy, composite manufacturing, property investment, land development, mechanical services, heating, plumbing and electrical services, renewable technologies, software development and internet of things.

    ResponsibilitiesTo cultivate and maintain strong customer relationshipsCoach, guide, advise and where necessary and instruct company employees including management on all HSEQ matters to ensure adherence to legalisationCarry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reducedOutline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazardsCarry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered tooEnsure working practices are safe and compliant with legislationConduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvementsPrepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies relevant to the businessLead in-house training with managers and employees about all QHSE matters and risksKeep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvementsRecord incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managersKeep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry Attend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journalsProduce management reports, newsletters, and bulletinsEnsure equipment is installed safelyManage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g., asbestos (COSHH)Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.

    Essential Skills General or NEBOSH Construction certificate or equivalentDemonstrate a passion for Health, Safety, Environment & Quality with robust knowledge and understanding of these subjectsAble to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriate, setting own high-quality standardsProficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPointFull UK Driving licenceA strong working knowledge of Risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, and Display Screen EquipmentAuditor training/experienceA "hands-on" implementer of processes and changeDesirable Skills QHAS 18001ISO 14001Lead or Internal Auditor Qualification
