We require a Reward Support Officer to cover an existing workload within a major police force, based in Kidlington.

This is an interim position for 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.


Role Purpose:


  • Assist in the provision of an efficient and effective People Directorate analytical and research capability, for all pay progression data in support of the strategic portfolios of the Force.
  • Configure, enhance and maintain a number of analytical tools to enable strategic identification and interpretation of specified management data to People Directorate and various internal / external partners.
  • Proactively assist in the management of the closure and timely completion of PDR's for Police Officers on a monthly basis.
  • Provision and collection of data in relation to protected characteristics to ensure robust reporting to National Police Chief's Council.
  • Integrate and analyse information systems that will support measurement of Police Officer pay progression to enable reporting for Director of People, OPCC and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide specialist advice to Officers (all ranks) on police officer pay progression related matters.
  • Collect, analyse and report 'user' feedback to inform future development and 'best practice' recommendations.
  • Work with all necessary stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure data used to measure performance is relevant, accurate and delivered in a timely manner.

Skills required to be successful in the role:

  • IT Literate with experience in MS Applications; proven ability to manipulate data from a variety of sources and databases and willing to learn new technology, databases and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and influence to all levels of the management structure.
  • Ability to deliver an excellent level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Generalist understanding of Human Resources processes and experience of how to manage / handle conflict.
  • Ability to identify, understand and develop solutions for key issues emerging around police officer pay progression.
  • Must be selfmotivated, well organised and able to work alone and as part of a team; presents a professional image and supports department and force strategies.


This role offers a competitive salary of
£13.87 per hour PAYE (Umbrella rate available)and you'll be working via
