Anderson Knight are recruitment are working in partnership with a Scottish business to recruit an Early Careers Adviser.

This is a full time permanent position, with flexibility around hybrid working and working from home, ideally you will spend 2 days per week working alongside the wider L&D team in the Edinburgh office and the remainder of your time working from home, or in the office if you would prefer.


As part of the Learning and Development team, you will contribute to the implementation and delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships across the business, as well as ensuring the appropriate infrastructure is in place to support learning for employees across the business.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cultivate robust relationships with key stakeholders to assist learners in completing their qualifications, involving regular meetings with line managers, trainers, assessors, and verifiers to assess progress and provide guidance.
  • Oversee all ongoing placements, maintaining awareness of progress, monitoring key metrics, and identifying any additional support needed.
  • Establish connections across all skills placements to enhance the link between programs and individuals, fostering greater cohesion within the overall framework.
  • Equip individuals concluding skills experience placements with the necessary skills to enter the market by delivering appropriate training and support.
  • Become an internal authority on available Skills Development programs, contributing to the integration and promotion of upskilling roles within the business as part of the L&D strategy
  • Advocate for the advancement and expansion of upskilling roles within the business.
  • Develop an understanding of the skills landscape by collaborating with further education and higher education providers, sector skills councils and other relevant entities to determine the most effective ways to support the development of the workforce.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to enhance outreach and marketing efforts for available roles within the business, ensuring a broader range of audiences are aware of and engaged in their placements.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience and familiarity with the skills development space, as well as a track record of supporting colleagues and organisations in achieving their skills development strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the development and support of apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • Proven expertise in organising, problemsolving, and monitoring work programs.
  • Proficient in generating relevant reports and information to effectively track the progress of work programs.
  • Strong communication skills, including a background in relationship building and the direct influence of other parties.
  • Working knowledge of various IT packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A proactive team player with robust engagement and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, coupled with a disposition to act with discretion and diplomacy.
