    Salaried GP Out of Hours & Urgent Care Services

    Out of Hours / Urgent Care Salaried GP £90,500 to £100,750 per annum £10,056 to £11,194 per session (additional rate enhancements apply for evening, weekend and overnight working).

    gtd healthcare are looking for dedicated and proactive GPs to work in Out of Hours and Urgent Care teams, who share our values in providing great quality care.

    Flexible salaried GP opportunities with In-hours, Out of Hours, evening, weekend and overnight working available.

    gtd healthcare is one of the largest, not-for-profit, NHS commissioned primary and urgent care providers in North West England.

    We operate eight urgent care centres in Manchester, Preston, Chorley and Oldham, with dedicated Out Of Hours and telephony services ran from our Digital Clinical Hub in Denton, Manchester as well as Home Visiting Services in Merseyside.

    You will be part of a busy and proactive team working alongside supportive multidisciplinary urgent care team and the wider organisation.

    As part of the multi-disciplinary gtd healthcare team, to deliver primary medical care in line with current evidence based best practice during the hours of operation dependent on the service area and contractual requirements.

    This may be via telephone triage or face to face assessment in a range of treatment locations or patients homes across our contract areas.

    Provide timely clinical care to gtd healthcare Out Of Hours patients in the form of advice or face to face consultation.

    This may be at our Denton Main Base, satellite bases, a gtd healthcare treatment centre or on home visits.
    To ensure that where appropriate, the patient is referred for further management with the relevant service, e.g. secondary care specialities, community services.
    Work with colleagues to maximise effective and efficient delivery of care to patients.
    Provide clinical advice to both internal and external other staff as required (e.g. Lead Senior Clinical Practitioner, Senior Care Co-ordinator, Triage Nurses, other GPs, District Nurses)
    To contribute to the training and development of Clinical and non-clinical staff, e.g. GP registrars, Trainee Advanced Practitioners, Paramedics.
    Support locally developed urgent care pathways and community alternatives to admission, e.g. DVT service, Alternative to Transfer (ATT/PATS) Scheme with NWAS.
    To support streaming of patients to or from co-located A&E services.

    Tobe responsible for prioritisation and timeliness of all consultations assignedto the shift.
    Workwith colleagues to maximise effective and efficient delivery of care topatients.
    Towork within the prescribing formulary, taking account of the minimum length ofprescribed treatment.
    Provideclinical advice to both internal and external other staff as required (e.g. LeadSenior Clinical Practitioner, Senior Care Co-ordinator, Triage Nurses, otherGPs, District Nurses)
    Represent gtd healthcare in a professionalmanner when in contact with the general public and other professionals.
    Tocontribute to the training and development of Clinical and non-clinical staff,e.g. GP registrars, Trainee Advanced Practitioners, Paramedics.

    Whereappropriate, undertake the basic trainers course and work with managementteams to either enable training status to be achieved or maintain trainingstatus.

    Supportlocally developed urgent care pathways and community alternatives to admission,e.g. DVT service, Alternative to Transfer (ATT/PATS) Scheme with NWAS.
    Tosupport streaming of patients to or from co-located A&E services.

    Oncall shifts (optional): Doctors on call are expected to respond to phonerequests within 5 minutes of call and to be able to attend at any of ourcentres within 1 hr.

    Identifyown training needs, in consultation and attend agreed relevant courses / studydays to enhance personal development.

    Workas part of the gtd healthcare multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive and productive team environment isdeveloped and maintained at all times.

    Involvementin the teaching and training of other health professionals who may be attachedto the service.
    Alertgtd management promptly to problems in service delivery or concerns about thecompetence of clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
    Tocontribute and participate in the management of complaints and concerns whereappropriate.
    Participatein audit of clinical and patient services.

    On the GMC GP register with a current Licence to Practice and without any current restrictions/undertakings or previous ones relevant to unscheduled care work.

    Vocational Training certificate or certificate of equivalence.
    Inclusion on NHS Englands Medical Performers list.
    Full membership of a medical indemnity organisation with required level of cover for GP OOH/urgent care sessions.

    GP Principal/Salaried GP working in area(s) covered by gtd healthcare contracted areas or which share an appropriate boundary or undertaking in hours or freelance sessional GP working sessions within any gtd healthcare contracted areas or which share an appropriate boundary and with demonstrable evidence of in hours commitments in a regular practices.

    An up to date understanding of modern primary care and its delivery in an OOH/urgent care setting.
    Experience of working in primary care/OOH/Urgent Care.
    Able to manage common medical, surgical and psychiatric emergencies.
    Has an understanding of local services, pathways and OOH services.
    Understanding of National Quality Requirements in Out of Hours.
    Experience of GP Training or multi- professional education.
