Job Overview
If you're seeking a fresh challenge and the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of care quality for emergency surgical patients, you're in luck! An exciting chance has emerged to be part of the new Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The SAU represents a significant advancement in elevating patient care standards and will establish a specialized clinical space and team for the prompt evaluation and treatment of patients with confirmed or probable surgical conditions across various specialties. The unit will comprise assessment areas for patients and a designated area to facilitate ambulatory care and hot clinics. Patients will be referred to the SAU by our ED or their GP, receiving swift evaluation and treatment plans based on their condition and requirements.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Sisters/Charge Nurses to join our team and play a vital role in shaping this innovative service within a welcoming and supportive setting.
Main Duties of the Job
Successful candidates will have the responsibility of delivering professional, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU), ensuring the highest quality of care and compassion for patients and their families. As the SAU is a dynamic environment with diverse surgical conditions and care needs, it offers a variety of learning and development opportunities.
