BANK Administrative Assistant and Allocator - Band 3

£25,838 - £27,285 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, dynamic bank Administrative Assistant and Allocator to join our Home Rehabilitation service.

This role involves ensuring all patients across the borough of Bromley are assigned their therapy interventions in a prompt and efficient manner.


You will work collaboratively with a vast range of key health and social care teams and services, spanning across primary, community and secondary care, as well as voluntary and public sector providers, to ensure the successful delivery of care pathways in Bromley.


There will be opportunities to receive regular training from senior therapists, to participate in the larger MDT meetings to further develop your skills.

Please note that the post holder is expected to work 37.5 hours a week on weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

There will be enhanced pay for working these days. There is potential for additional bank shifts to cover during the week.

The current post is based at Home Pathway Office, Foxbury ward, Queen Mary's Hospital, DA14 6LT.


Bromley Healthcare is a community interest company providing a wide range of services including community nursing services such as district nursing, health visiting to specialist nurses, as well as therapy services for children, young people and adults.

Salary is dependant on NHS experience and current banding/pay point, applicants from outside the NHS will receive the start point of the salary scale in line with NHS terms & conditions.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Office based on a ward that is shared with other clinicians.
The role must be carried out on work premises and cannot be accommodated for home working.

  • The post holder will be working alongside a large multidisciplinary team including;
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Rehab assistants
  • Admin staff
  • Management team
  • Ensuring safe allocation of rehabilitation daily calls of patients within the Bromley area. This involves coordinating patient calls by post code and urgency of needs and allocating into the most appropriate rehab assistant/therapist's diary.
  • To develop an awareness and learning of therapy interventions and allocate daily patient interventions.
  • Home Environment Assessments
  • To call in on the daily conference call lead by the head of rehab highlighting daily admissions, discharges, readmissions and issues for service.
  • To check community clinical staff in and out during the hours of work in line with the local lone working policy.
  • To run the daily handover EMIS report, decipher and input the sensitive information on to the patient schedule.
  • To update discharges, admissions and hospital readmissions on the EMIS system, patient schedule and as appropriate relaying information to staff members.
  • To support the team as the first point of contact via telephone for all patients / families/ team members and those from wider services.
  • To liaise with the roster and bank team if issues arise with staffing supported by senior members of the team.
  • Support staff with clinical record systems
  • To use IT systems for inputting and transfer of data (EMIS and Malinko).
  • Receiving incoming stock, check against order information and rectify issues.
  • Checking PPE levels and ensuring that staff have access to PPE at all times.
  • As a member of the Home Pathway, to continue developing and expanding on the good working relationships that exist between all services.
  • To participate in the induction and training of new members of staff in the allocator role and contribute to service development.
  • To ensure the confidential policy, code of conduct, lone working, annual leave policies are followed at all times.
  • Undertake administrative tasks as necessary e.g. photocopying.
  • The post holder is responsible to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk.
