Your role at a glance

The team

We are looking for two interns to join our Intelligence Team where you will have opportunity to work with our Intelligence Analysts & Researchers and discover how they use intelligence captured from a wide range of sources to provide insight about employers and those running pensions, ultimately informing decision making across the business and protecting workplace pensions in the UK.


You will have an opportunity to work alongside a skilled team of Intelligence professionals delivering to a range of stakeholders across The Pensions Regulator as well as external partners such as law enforcement, other government bodies and the wider pension industry.

What you'll do
As an Intelligence Intern, you will have an opportunity to work closely with our experts to:

  • Learn how the team support investigations, enforcement and disruption activity relating to topics such as pension scams or failures to align with duties set by the regulator.
  • Gain an understanding of how the team works to identify and supervise longerTerm trends or thematic risk. For example, understanding the impact of external factors, such as politics or economics on the pension sector.
  • See how the team are innovating to ensure that they are optimising their analytical capabilities, using charting and visualisation tools as well as machine learning to improve collection of relevant intelligence
