The Role


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Damp and Mould Surveyor to lead our specialist surveying team and serve as the strategic lead for damp and mould within our organisation.

This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of damp and mould assessment, remediation, and prevention, ensuring our housing stock meets the highest standards of health and safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the specialist damp and mould surveying team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to eradicate damp and mould within our housing stock, optimising efficiency and minimising costs for the customer, where possible.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs and align damp and mould services accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and relevant legislation in all damp and mould remediation efforts.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Analyse data and trends to make informed decisions on damp and mould prevention and remediation strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of damp and mould records and compliance with maintenance standards.
  • Produce performance data regarding damp and mould management and initiatives for the Executive team and Board, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

What We Need

For this role, you'll need to have:

  • Proven experience in damp and mould surveying and remediation, preferably in a social housing or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and compliance requirements in relation to damp and mould.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Knowledge of damp and mould prevention, assessment, and remediation techniques.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisionmaking.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant professional qualification in surveying, building maintenance, or a related field.
  • Hold a full driving license and access to a vehicle
