- To be in charge of the Bar Assistants when the Bar Manager is absent
- To assist the Bar Manager in project and ad hoc needs
- Preparing the bar and relating area for service, uplifting, replenishment stock after checking and signing for it, and ensuring that prescribed bar stocks are held.
- Preparing for any drinks receptions/functions as required.
- Awareness of any accounting procedures required and any special requests.
- Actively talking to customers, offering table service, and upselling throughout the course of the shift.
- Maintaining the bar and bar area in a clean, tidy, and safe condition at all times and providing members/customers with friendly efficient service at all times.
- Dispensing drinks, recording sales, receiving payment, and giving correct change for all sales.
- Correct service of drinks with correct use of glasses, measurements, etc always.
- Adhering without exception to all rules, regulations and legal requirements covering health and safety, hygiene, licensing law, weights and measures, price display, fire regulations and emergency procedures.
- Ensuring that member/customer requirements and satisfaction are met throughout the service period and that friendly and good relations are upheld at all times.
- Monitoring efficient working of bar, refrigeration, plant and ice making equipment, and notifying superior in the event of malfunction.
- Assisting in training of new staff when requested
- Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue
- Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative
- Dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence
- Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
- Previous supervisory experience in bars or restaurants
- Have a strong knowledge of cocktails and drinks
