AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and wea re looking for a Children's Residential Worker in the Conwy area.
Job Purpose:
To ensure that Looked After Children & Young People receiving short breaks/looked after full time in Conwy receive the appropriate levels and standards of care and support, that is based on helping children and/or young people live their life differently as they are
living it day to day.
To provide focused, timely, reliable, and responsive support that allows for the child/young person to learn and practice new thoughts, feelings, and actions in the most important areas of their lives, via applied therapeutic knowledge and a genuinely caring relationship that creates a happy and safe environment.
Settings include those supporting individuals with learning disabilities and /or complex emotional and behavioural needs and full training and support will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities - Job SpecificKnowledge & Skills Good level of education, Educated to GCSE, Grade C level (5 or more GCSE's) or QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care/Social Practice (or equivalent)
QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or ability to study at Diploma level
Experience of working effectively with young people who present challenging behaviours, to downplay risks and dangers through minimalist and casual language and actions
