Job Role:
Transport Planner


Location:
Derbyshire


Hours:
Monday - Friday


Salary:
£25,000-£30,000 p/a DOE

Responsibilities:


  • Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met
  • Plan vehicles as close to maximum capacity and time parameters as possible therefore ensuring full efficiency of the vehicles
  • Ensure vehicle earnings are greater than vehicle costs to achieve a healthy margin
  • Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure loads meet safety standards
  • Communicate routes to and liaise with other Depots / Sites
  • Source and plan backloads to avoid vehicle empty running
  • Fully understand agreed KPI's for Department
  • Work within a team of planners and administration staff

Experience:


  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong Interpersonal and people management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail to accurately record delivery information
  • Excellent communication skills with both customers and suppliers
  • Knowledge of Drivers Hours, tachograph and WTD legislation
  • Good geographical knowledge the UK

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
