Standish, Wigan, WN6


Salary:
£22k to £27K - DOE

Hours:
The role has two alternating shift patterns. Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30 and Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30

We provide engineering services to industry covering Machinery Installation and Relocation, Mechanical Engineering, Technical and Heavy Lifting and Wind Turbine Generator Construction on a National & International scale.

Purpose of the Role

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a busy IT department at the Groups Head Office, Standish, Wigan.

A position has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking IT Support Technician.

About the role

Daily Duties

  • Responding to support requests in a timely manner and prioritising requests
  • Monitor and manage support requests.
  • Liaise with suppliers for standard purchasing.
  • Liaise with support contractors on issues and system development.
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved.
  • Maintain inventory and knowledge bases guides.
  • Daily server maintenance
  • Proved advice, assistance, and training to end users.
  • Monitor and maintain systems.
  • Engage with planning and implementation of IT Projects
  • Setup of computers and printers
  • Mobile phone management, deployment and troubleshoot.
  • Travel UK wide in duties
Essential Attributes

  • Enthusiasm to learn and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Helpdesk/Desktop support environment experience
  • A full driving license.
  • Good troubleshooting skills, both onsite and remotely
  • Basic knowledge of IT networking
  • Windows OS [7/10] and Windows Server [2016]
  • Active Directory and related Microsoft services experience
