    The Role

    We are recruiting for an Android Developer as part of our growing Engineering team who will be responsible for the development of applications (mobile or desktop) on the Android platform.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Write and test code, refining and rewriting it as necessary and communicate with any programmers involved in the project.
    • Work with Technical Lead in a timely manner to report any deviations from the architecture, design or performance of assigned tasks, or issues that are likely to cause such deviations.
    • Provide accurate and timely progress reports to the Project Manager.
    • Participate in internal and external Quality Assurance audits as required.
    • Provide input to Process Improvement program in order to improve technical processes or practices, based on practical day to day experiences.
    • Analyse user requirements
    • Research, design and write new software programs
    • Evaluate the software and systems that make computers and hardware work
    • Develop existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification
    • Integrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together

    Skills Required

    General Development Skills

    • Kotlin
    • Git source control
    • Unit testing using JUnit

    Android Experience/Skills

    • Experience in Android Security / Android OS
    • Espresso UI Testing

    Team/Planning/Tools

    • Scrum/agile development
    • JIRA, Confluence

    Security Clearance Requirements

    The successful candidate will be required to go through a SC security clearance, with DV eligibility preferred.

    Location

    The role will be required to onsite in either Poole or Hereford every other week.
