    Are you a Physiotherapist looking to develop your skills in Pelvic Health?

    We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 looking to develop their skills in the area of Pelvic Health at Ipswich Hospital, part of ESNEFT. This is a 0.6 WTE post.

    The service is outpatient based on a Monday to Friday basis. The service runs from a base within the Trust but has satellite clinics at multiple locations in the area of East Suffolk.

    Men, women and children are treated by the team for pelvic pain, urinary and faecal incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunctions. The team also assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions related to pregnancy.

    Ideally you will have some experience in women's and men's health, musculoskeletal assessment and treatment of spinal and pelvic pain and knowledge of pre and post-operative assessment and treatment either undergraduate or post graduate, however, full training will be given and funding for courses is available.

    A band 5/6 run through would be supported by the team.

    Main duties of the job To work as a member of the Integrated Therapies team, providing services for the Pelvic Health Unit. This includes assessing and treating men, women and children with bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction and obstetric outpatients, antenatal classes and postnatal exercise groups.

    To provide an evidence based physiotherapy service that adheres to HCPC, CSP, CQC and Trust clinical and quality standards

    To ensure as far as is reasonably practical the safety of the patients in your care

    To supervise and assist in the development of junior physiotherapists, non-qualified staff and students on placement

    To undertake audit of both clinical practice and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

    To demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development

    To work according to trust and departmental objectives.

    To work with multi-disciplinary team members to facilitate and promote service development.

    You must be HCPC registered and a CSP member.

    You must be dynamic, proactive, a good communicator, have excellent time management and prioritisation skills and a desire to learn and challenge themselves in order to provide the best possible care to all patients. You will be required to undertake audits of the service and keep up to date with current research.     • Proven post registration experience including a range of rotational acute care experiences
    • Developing interest in the field of Women's Health, with either undergraduate or postgraduate experience in the speciality and one in musculoskeletal outpatients
    • Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner
    • Experience of working with and supervising assistants, technicians and students.
    • Ability to build effective working relationships with patients/carers/colleagues
    • Directing patient care as part of MDT
    Desirable
    • Experience of evidencing and auditing practice.
    • Experience of managing Assistants/Technicians.
    Qualifications Essential
    • BSc /MSc Physiotherapy
    • MCSP
    • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
    • A related post-graduate course: e.g. post graduate diploma in obstetrics and Gynae/continence, or the intention to achieve.
    • Evidence of continuing professional development including a portfolio of reflective learning and evaluation of in-service training.
    Desirable
    • Validated post registration courses
    • Non-clinical courses
    • LEO / leadership
    • Membership of POGP.
    • Information technology and computer literacy.
    Knowledge Essential
    • Principles and practices of rehabilitation including knowledge of the benefits of exercise and education
    • Knowledge of relevant diagnoses and their management
    Desirable
    • Knowledge of local community services and value of inter-agency working

    Skills Essential
    • Ability to travel across Ipswich and East Suffolk area using own transport
