    Principal Engineer - District Heating

    London, Glasgow or North West England

    £60,000 - £80,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Company Pension + Specialist Training + 33 Days Holiday + Holiday Purchase Options + Flexibility On Hours

    Are you an experienced Mechanical or Building Services Engineer with knowledge of decarbonisation schemes and district heating projects?

    Are you interested in joining one of the UK's largest providers of both public and private sector decarbonisation schemes where you can immediately enter into a position of significant responsibility and where you can benefit from a clear development plan that'll support you in becoming an Associate or Director in the future?


    This company has hundreds of employees spread across the UK and have established themselves as a leading EPC business within the Renewable Energy and Sustainability sectors, with projects covering things such as District Heating schemes as well as commercial and industrial-scale Solar PV and Heat Pump installations.

    Off the back of a significant amount of investment in recent months, they are looking to continue growing to solidify their already strong position in the industry.


    In this role you will be playing a leading role in the delivery of major District Heating and other Renewable Energy projects for both public and private sector clients, such as at hospitals, universities and local councils.


    The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level (preferably with Chartership) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Service Engineering or similar, and will have demonstrable experience working on similar District Heating projects in a previous role.

    The Role:

    • Office-based with some hybrid working (to be discussed with management)
    • Supporting in growing and leading a team of Design Engineers
    • Supporting a range of projects such as District Heating schemes, Plantrooms, Energy Centres etc.
    • Assisting with development of junior engineering staff
    • Inputting into business development, bid and tender activities
    • Reviewing costs and cost implications, lifecycle cost analysis etc.
    • Assessing and interpreting client requirements
    • Selecting equipment, carrying out calculations and producing specifications

    The Person:

    • Educated to Degree level in relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Building Services etc)
    • Chartered Engineer status or working towards this (desirable)
    • Strong knowledge of equipment used in Heating, Energy or Building Services sectors e.g plantrooms, boilers, pipework, etc.
