Marketing Analytics Lead - £65k - Manchester - Financial Services


The Marketing Analytics Lead is a key hire within a high performing Analytics and Data Science team, and reports into the Head of Analytics.

Your team will work closely with the marketing, digital and pricing functions as well as partnering with productfocussed Commercial directors.

You will have responsibility for driving the analysis, developing the statistical models, producing the clear insights, and building the strong stakeholder relationships needed, in support of the marketing strategy - including campaign data selections anddeveloping insights to drive improved marketing performance across a range of channels


As part of a larger analytics function, and working alongside other like minded data science professionals, there will be opportunity to broaden your skill set by looking at other parts of other business over time.

For example, using advanced analytics techniquesto answer some of the key commercial questions in the business such as:


  • What is the value of each type of customer?
  • How can they attract and retain an increasing proportion of valuable customers?
An inquisitive thinker with the appetite and ability to add new techniques to your tool set through self-development - you will be able to transition between leading and developing a small team of analysts, remaining hands on and in the detail of the morecomplex analytical activities, and have the ability to succinctly present findings and conclusions to senior / non-technical stakeholders


How will you do this?

  • Lead on the analytical support provided to Marketing and others around campaign data selections, analysis, testing, modelling, profiling and reporting
  • Identify and fulfil new datadriven opportunities in the areas of customer acquisition, upsell, crosssell and retention
  • Advise and recommend improvements to future marketing activity, underpinned by comprehensive analysis conducted and insights gained by the team
  • Day to day management and professional development of 1 Analyst
  • Lead communication and promotion of team activity to ensure full understanding across the business.

About you

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, evidenced through employment (preferably in financial services)
  • Strong knowledge of a range of statistical techniques and concepts e.g. logistic regression, clustering, decision trees, machine learning
  • Excellent SAS, SQL and R programming skills
  • Previous experience of leading a team in an analytical function
  • Proven influencing skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver results
  • Experience of other analytical tools e.g. Python, Power BI, GA
