The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) is looking for a full-time, permanent Principal User Researcher to help us improve the experience of our community of practitioners around the world.
TCLP works internationally with large public and private sector organisations (and the lawyers who advise them) to deliver fast and fair decarbonisation through contracts.
We do this by publishing open-source content, building networks of practitioners and engaging directly with organisations and governments in over 110 countries.
You'll identify gaps in knowledge, high-risk assumptions and the big questions that need answering and you'll design and deliver research to solve these.
Two important areas for research in 2024 are:
identifying key intervention points in different legal sectors and how we could scale our impact using new technology such as natural language processing.
We know good strategy is built on good research and analysis.Using your knowledge of our users, you'll help the leadership team develop new ways to meet our goals and deliver impact.
Teaching colleagues about the different research methodologies and how to conduct these will be a consistent part of your role.
This means you'll work closely with our legal practitioners, engagement specialists, content designers and external partners such as developers and data scientists.
Through a deep understanding of their needs, you'll help the organisation focus on solving the real problems they are facing (not hypothetical problems we think they're facing).
You've worked in areas of policy or implementation, where you've developed ways to influence how users behave.You have proven experience across a wide range of analysis and synthesis techniques. You love sharing your methods, insights and writing engaging summaries. You care about building accessible experiences for an international audience. You've worked with diverse audiences before and understand how building inclusive experiences is key to their success.
You know the importance of data analysis to build a clearer picture. You've used or commissioned data analysis in the past to build powerful insights.
You have experience applying creative thinking in problem areas and helping develop solutions that meet the goals of our users and organisation.
Project management and prioritisationYou've previously employed or commissioned data analysis techniques to gain deeper insights into user behaviours and experiences, and you used this analysis to develop ways to influence user behaviour effectively.
