The Job You'll Do;

  • Practical working knowledge as a champion in Health and Safety.
  • A pragmatic riskbased approach to health and safety management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with work force, colleagues and senior management.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Supporting the HSE Manager in promoting a positive safety culture across the company.
  • Complete safety inspections.
  • Carry out safety investigations on accidents and serious near misses / property damage.
  • Check safety equipment across site.
  • Complete HSE inductions including PPE issue, locker allocation and site orientation.
  • Monitor safety performance.
  • Manage the risk assessment and SOP process and ensure that assessments and paperwork is up to date.
  • Carry out safety audits.
  • Coordinate and lead the site Health and Safety committee.
  • Collect, monitor and document HSE metrics/documentation and action plans.
  • Provide advice, training and coaching to other managers and employees, as required.

About You;

  • Prior experience within a HSE Advisory role.
  • NEBOSH Qualification.
  • Experience 5S, six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Worked with dynamic risk assessments to a site/department
  • Monitored behavioural Safety programs on a site/department
  • Experience in moving a culture from reactive to proactive
