A fantastic NHS organisation is looking to recruit a number of Senior Procurement Manager positions to take responsibility for leading high-value and complex tenders and contracts in Sheffield.

The role:


  • To operate effective information systems to ensure accessibility of data that adds value to decision making.
  • To deliver against agreed annual cost reduction targets and report on action taken, taking specialist responsibility for specific Departments and product categories.
  • Develop supplier relationships; negotiate with senior personnel of supplying companies, undertaking visits to supplier sites when appropriate.
  • Conduct detailed evaluation of tender returns, using appropriate financial assessment and purchasing and supply criteria. Ensure products and supplier meet required standards according to English and EU law.
  • Record contract details on Purchase Order system, including Contract Suite
  • To ensure that all clinical or nonclinical risks issues identified are dealt with effectively from a Supplies perspective.
  • To supervise up to 16 direct reports, mentor and line manage in the absence of the Head of Procurement
  • To monitor supplier performance and liaise with suppliers to resolve problems.

Who are you?

  • Minimum 3 year's direct involvement in Procurement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate where necessary
  • Knowledge of Contract Law
  • Experience in the responsibility for managing complex tenders
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Knowledge of Contract Law
