    Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our Highways team to work on the A63 project in Hull.

    Joining our Highways team means developing your career and being part of something special. We engineer for a safer future, to connect communities and to leave a lasting legacy.

    As a Construction Manager, you will take ownership of and lead the construction activities on the A63 Castle Street improvements scheme, ranging from briefings, RAMS, putting people to work, managing all subcontract works on site, managing the works managers (subordinates) and ensuring the project is run safely, to programme and to budget.

    Lead the project team and manage the supply chain, delivering projects to time, cost and quality targets and standards.

    Manage Sub Contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; Participate with the management of internal/external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines


    Appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these into decision making working closely with the Project Surveyor.

    Liaise with the Project Director to ensure they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks ensuring that all additional work is identified

    Assist with people management and resourcing of the project

    Previous Highways Construction Management experience

    Ability to build customer relationships, in addition to planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.

    Financial awareness, with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance.

    An appropriate and valid CSCS
