    Clinical Scientist / Advanced Audiologist (Audiology) - Vestibular Focus preferred

    Band - Suitable for newly qualified Clinical Scientists

    We're looking for a Clinical Scientist / Advanced Audiologist with a special interest in vestibular testing to join our friendly audiology team.


    This is an exciting opportunity to join a service that provides care for adults and children, and the role offers the chance to practice other aspects of audiology alongside its vestibular focus.

    We would welcome applications from those who specialise in other aspects of Audiology as we have a variety of specialists within our team.

    We're also happy to support applications for STP equivalence via the Academy of Healthcare Science.

    It comes with a variety of responsibilities related to quality assurance, supervision and service development.
    As an audiologist with a vestibular testing specialism, you'll be responsible for vestibular assessment and rehabilitation in adults.

    The role may include line management responsibilities and will offer opportunities to develop and lead on innovative projects within the team.

    As a senior clinician, the successful candidate will be supported to develop their leadership skills through further training and professional development.

    To apply, you should have NHS experience and a Masters-level qualification (or equivalent) in Audiology.

    The development of the IMP should include a range of investigations, procedures or processes in consultation with families and relevant others, based on the individual child's needs and wishes and accepted good practice.

    Develops and delivers IMPs for families within specialist Audiology services e.g. paediatrics

    The Advanced Healthcare Scientist in Audiology undertakes the full range of available Audiological tests unsupervised, including advanced diagnostic testing, in particular, frequency specific objective testing to determine thresholds in young babies.

    Auditory Rehabilitation


    The Advanced Audiologist develops interventions and rehabilitation programmes based upon autonomous clinical opinion, which may involve onward referral to relevant intervention programmes such as specialist tertiary services.

    The rehabilitation programmes may also include balance rehabilitation tinnitus rehabilitation paediatric habilitation.
    In addition the Specialist Audiologist may undertake motivational interviewing or counselling.
    The Specialist Audiologist has an awareness of local external agencies who can provide additional help and support to the patient and will signpost/refer the patient as agreed
