The Role


National Care Employer of the Year is looking for a full time support worker to join the team in a specialist Transitions Project in the County Durham area.


The Role:

Is to provide additional supervision and support to help young people leaving care maintain their licences, live their lives safely and help them to acquire essential life skills i.e.

understanding benefits, budgeting, cooking and accessing education or training.

Salary:
Dependent on experience & qualifications, £26,200 - £29,120 projected including minimum number of sleeps per annum (£22,000 - £24,920 basic plus £50 per sleep)

Job Hours


Hours:
Full time, 40 hours. Shifts, including waking nights, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleepovers, are worked as part of a rota. Flexibility is required due to the nature of the job. Sleep in allowance is paid. Overtime is sometimes available. Mileage is also paid where applicable.

Essential Requirements:

Essential requirements:

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Children) or equivalent (or willingness to work towards);
A driving licence and access to a vehicle;

Previous experience of working with:
Looked After Children, 16-18 years old; youth offending; care leavers; substance/alcohol misuse;
