- To assist with the operational aspects of the Council's Payroll Service's, processes and procedures.
- To contribute to ensuring that over 10,000 staff are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
- To support the service undertaking a range of administrative activities in the day to day operation of the Service.
- Act as a first point of contact for Payroll, responding to correspondence, telephone, electronic mail and queries from customers.
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- At least 2 years' experience within a Payroll Officer role or equivalent.
- Previous work experience, in particular gained within a financial environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), in particular when resolving complaints and other matters.
