Job Description - Junior Buyer

In this new Junior Buyer graduate role in London, you will be working with clients both new and existing for this FMCG SME.

The client is after an ambitious, energetic and results driven graduate based in London, to join their buying team.

You've got to love the art of negotiation, researching and analysing information and have more heart than an artichoke when it's time to start negotiating.

Key Responsibilities - Junior Buyer
In this Junior Buyer opportunity in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Buyers to collate stock forecasts, monitor sales activity to ensure products are ordered on time with sufficient coverage.
  • Building strong relationships with a wide network of suppliers, placing orders on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure the Supply & Logistics wastage target is met by closely monitoring shortdated stock, regularly meeting with the warehouse operations and sales teams to agree waste reducing actions.
  • Coordinating and tracking inbound stock to ensure swift transit and delivery dates being met.
  • Arranging and ensuring relevant stock movements are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Coordinating with the sales teams to communicate product availability.
  • Review commodity market data, product trends, new suppliers and sourcing opportunities with the Buyer.
  • New supplier and product set ups on our Orderwise system.
  • Create new launch materials and run training sessions with teams across the business.
  • Reviewing invoices and price matching with our accounts team

Job Requirements - Junior Buyer
For this Junior Buyer job in London, you will need:

  • Positive 'can-do' attitude, Proactive and good attention to detail
  • Need to enjoy working in a fastpaced role with a varied workload
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in forecasting and forward planning (preferred)
  • Commercial awareness
  • You want to be part of a fun, hardworking and growing team
