    Job summary

    Keith Winter House is a 15 bedded, 24-hour Rehabilitationunit part of the Mental Health inpatient recovery services. We support patientswith complex mental health difficulties predominantly psychosis. The servicehas a Recovery ethos and offers a holistic person-centred approach with a focuson promoting optimal social recovery, instilling hope for the future whilstsupporting patients in developing coping strategies, empowering self-managementof symptoms and an ability for increased independence.

    Main duties of the job

    Putpatient care at the heart of the work you do to improve health care outcomesand service delivery

    Workalongside the multi-disciplinary team to deliver interventions both on the wardand in the community

    To workwith patients on a one to one and group basis to develop independent livingskills and provide psychoeducation to support their recovery pathway

    Tocarry out enhanced observations of patients/clients.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    As part ofthe ward team, support the wards senior nursing staff by assisting them toproduce the best possible standards of care and practice from within theavailable resources.

    Carry outassigned duties involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by aregistered nurse.

    Knowledge

    Essential

  • Good English
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of how to promote independence and facilitate learning in others.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of MHA issues.
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Level 3 qualification ( Alevel, NVQ3) in Care or
  • Level 2 qualification ( GCSE, NVQ2) in care and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post
  • Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
  • Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
