Our mission within Fraud CIO is to design, deliver and evolve best-in-class fraud capabilities to protect our customers and to establish Santander as the global lead for preventing economic crime.

We're seeking a talented Technical Lead to join our team in Fraud CIO.

As a Tech Lead, you'll be working on building and maintaining multiple features across the Fraud estate that will help protect our customers from Fraud and scams while already providing a smooth and clear experience within our digital channels.

You'll be responsible for guiding and supporting the backend engineers in the area, leading by example and setting best practises for the guild.


The difference you'll make:


  • Working with Architecture in discussing and elaborating Fraud initiatives and solutions.
  • Working with the Fraud CIO Technical Leads/Analysts in solution design ensuring initiative alignment to the fraud strategic technical roadmap.
  • Contributing to the Technical Lead/Analyst Guild including making recommendations on architecture best practices, standards and patterns where necessary.
  • Maintaining the existing Fraud technology view recommending improvements and migrations to improve efficiency and alignment to architecture recommendations.
  • Leading the implementation of software by being involved throughout the SDLC
  • Analysing possible project challenges and constraints (Risks, Time, Resources and Scope), identifying options and mitigating actions.

What you'll bring:


  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid technical background with an ability to unpick complex problems
  • Strong experience with API development, Microservice architecture and pipelines
  • Knowledge of Open API, OAuth2, Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab, Github & Kubernetes
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira and Confluence tools
  • Experience with continuous delivery practices

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel
  • Experience in delivering Fraud related initiatives
  • Experience working within AWS

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

Application process

  • 1st Stage Technical Interview this will a 30min technical interview with one of the team
2nd Stage - A one-hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
